Can you stop opening a month without knowing what it will close at?
A brand raised sales by more than 100% in a single month. What was published is the framework rather than detailed numbers; the media buyer shared an explanation of four things, with no spend or ROAS figures in the post itself. So we'll talk about the four things.
First, proper planning for the month. November isn't an ordinary month, carrying Black Friday, Cyber Monday and year-end. So the month was split into periods, each with its own goal and its own offer. Not one offer running from the first day to the last.
Second, a media plan with numbers built from data. The difference between those two sentences is the difference between watching a month and running one.
Third, the structure the plan was executed through. Campaigns were built in the shape of the plan itself, with a campaign per period and per platform carrying its own objective, rather than one campaign edited daily according to whatever happens.
Fourth, the forecast sheet: a sheet that builds the media plan from data and predicts the outcome before the month starts.
Why does this case matter when the detailed numbers weren't published? Because 100% growth in a single month doesn't come from working harder. It comes from the month being planned before it began, and from knowing what the spend would return before it was spent.
Compare it with the earlier target case and you find exactly the same idea: forecast from data, a budget fixed to the plan, and a result above target. Twice, with the same pattern. That isn't coincidence.
A media plan isn't a document for the client to sign. It's the tool that turns a month from a surprise into arithmetic.
